Why do you need my home address?

Having a your home address  provides the Foundation with an alternate to your business address.  Should you ever have a change in workplace, take a leave of absence or retire, you will continue to receive the Canadian Tax Journal without interruption. 

Why do you need my personal e-mail address?

If your regular contact details change , having your personal e-mail address as an alternative to your business e-mail address will ensure that you will continue to receive our electronic newsletters (Canadian Tax Highlights, Tax for the Owner-Manager, and Canadian Tax Focus) and timely membership news from the Foundation.   

Why do you need my birthdate?

The Foundation recently introduced a reduced membership fee for members who are 65 years of age and older. Your membership record must contain your birthdate for the system to implement this special fee. We understand that many members have security concerns regarding birth dates.  Because our system requires a full date and does not accept only a year, you may enter your birthdate as 12/31/19xx, provided that the year is accurate.

What is my tax practice start date?

Your tax practice start date is the date on which you first started practising tax as a professional.

Why do you need that date?

Your tax practice start date determines whether you meet the criteria for a Young Practitioner, defined as a member who has been practising tax for 10 years or less.  

The Foundation provides special programming to practitioners in this group.  

Young Practitioners who have been practising for 3 years or less qualify for a reduced membership fee.

All Young Practitioners qualify for reduced fees at most of the Foundation's events.

For members who have been practising for more than 10 years, this information helps us to target our programming more accurately.

 
Why do you need my designation(s)?

This information helps us to better understand the demographics of our membership and to target our programming more accurately.

Why do you need my job (position) title?

Your job or position title completes your mailing information and helps to ensure that journals and other materials sent by postal mail arrive in a timely manner.
